Exploring The Collection Through Painting: Art Techniques In Focus

Led by artist Mary Noonan these painting classes will see participants explore the technique of a different artist from the collection each week. Looking at colour, mark making, tone and composition there will be the opportunity to experiment with different styles and media inspired by artists such as Jack B. Yeats, Roderic O’Conor, Francis Bacon, Sean Scully, Norah McGuiness, Walter Osborne, Elizabeth Magill and Edgar Degas. These classes will include talks in front of artworks followed by practical art workshops in the Gallery’s education space. 

Each class is a stand-alone session and participants can sign up for one or more of the workshops. Suitable for all levels of experience. Advanced booking is required as numbers are limited. €20 per class/ please contact 01 2225553 to book your place.
