Sean Lynch discusses his artwork Beuys (still a discussion), made in 2007. Considering the incidental moments and memories recalled during Beuys' trip to Limerick and Cork in September 1974, Lynch will describe a web of connections and encounters that point to the radical approach of Beuys and its reception in a conservative Irish society of the time.
Bio: Sean Lynch has presented solo exhibitions at Edinburgh Art Festival (2021), Henry Moore Institute (2019) and Douglas Hyde Gallery (2017). He represented Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 2015. In 2013, he presented a solo exhibition at the Hugh Lane that subsequently toured to Modern Art Oxford, both venues that hosted Beuys' Secret Block for a Secret Person in 1974.
