16-week Portfolio Preparation Course
Sunday 19 September 2010 – Sunday 6 February 2011, 11.30am - 1.30pm
(Excluding Sundays 24th & 31st October, 19th & 26th December 2010 & 2nd January 2011)
Led by artist Fiona King, the purpose of this 16-week course is to instruct students in the preparation and production of a portfolio of work that will cater for entry to third level art colleges. Through continual emphasis on idea generation, group discussion evaluation and practical application, students will identify and clarify the process involved in producing a body of art work. The students will demonstrate how each of the ideas they generate is connected and influences the work to follow through a visual or conceptual association. The visual research will be presented through notebooks, worksheets and resolved pieces. For students to truly benefit from this experience, assignments will need to be completed outside of the scheduled classes. Fee: €220. Early enrolment is advised, as numbers are limited.
