Public Lecture: Roger Fry's Post-Impressionist exhibitions in Dublin 1911-12

Roger Fry, the English artist and art critic created an uproar, and also put his reputation on the line when he organised exhibitions of Post-Impressionist paintings in Dublin, London and Liverpool. The exhibitions of Post-Impressionism ( a term which Fry coined himself) featured works by Manet, Gaugin, Matisse and Van Gogh. In this lecture Dr Roisin Kennedy, Art Historian and lecturer at University College, Dublin will discuss the organisation and reception of Roger Fry’s Post-Impressionism exhibitions in Dublin in 1911-12.
