Discover Art at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane written by Jessica O'Donnell explores the Hugh Lane's wonderful collection of modern and contemporary art and includes ideas for art activities contributed by artists who have participated in the Hugh Lane's programmes for children. To celebrate the gallery's centenary year in 2008 a copy of Discover Art was sent to every primary school in the Republic of Ireland in a programme generously supported by the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism.
Discover Art was shortlisted for Children's Book of the Year Award 2008. The Bisto Children's Book of the Year Awards are presented annually in recognition of excellence in writing and illustration. The awards are administered by Children's Books Ireland (CBI) and sponsored by Bisto.
