Title: Lockout 1913
Description: Taking the exhibition Lockout 1913 as a starting point, this lecture series will examine significant artistic, social and political movements in Ireland during this period. 1913 was a complex and controversial year in both the history of Ireland and in the establishment of The Hugh Lane Gallery itself, making for a unique and poignant venue to tell the visual story of this turbulent time.
