A visit to the Gallery is a very enjoyable way of introducing your class to works of art. The Gallery has an excellent collection of Irish and international artists from the mid 19th century to the present day and the collection includes both painting, sculpture, film and digital works. A general tour will cover highlights of the Gallery's collection and temporary exhibitions which ranges from Impressionist masterpieces by Monet, Degas and Manet to works by contemporary Irish and international artists. However, should you wish to look at particular works you can specify this on your tour booking form and your guide will be informed. Advance preparation in the classroom is very beneficial when planning your visit to the Gallery - and it adds to the fun of seeing works in reality and being surprised by their size, scale and colour! To avoid disappointment always check with the JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING to see what works are on display.
