Welcome to the Hugh Lane Gallery. We are delighted to reopen the gallery doors to you all. Our current exhibition The Lane Legacy which includes some of the most stunning paintings in 20th century European art is waiting to be enjoyed by all of our visitors in a safe, secure environment. See Monet’s Waterloo Bridge or Manet’s Music in the Tuileries Gardens, Lavery’s beautiful portrait of his wife Hazel or Frank O’Meara’s views of the French artists’ colony Grez sur Loing. Take a walk through the Sean Scully collection or be once again amazed at the chaos of Francis Bacon’s studio.
There is no need to book. We will monitor our numbers carefully so you are free to wander through the galleries at leisure.
Following the re-opening of the Gallery our education programme for adults and young people continues online over the summer months and details of our upcoming programmes can be found for here . In addition, our education programme's newly produced and imaginative art activity ideas for all ages are shared weekly and can be viewed here. We also have suggestions for reading, listening, watching and more as part of our Artists Takeover series here.
You can also drop into our café (open 11am-3pm daily) or pick up some new reading material in our bookshop. For all of our regulars as well as our new online friends and followers we would love to see you in the gallery and let us have your thoughts and impressions through our email JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING or through our social media platforms @TheHughLane everywhere. Your voice is important to us.
